Valencia are plotting a summer raid for Everton defender Yerry Mina ahead of the summer, Football Insider has learned.

The Colombia international's future at Goodison Park is up in the air as Carlo Ancelotti has made a new centre-back a priority in the upcoming window.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that La Liga big hitters Valencia are keen on taking Mina, 26, back to Spain.

This comes after Football Insider revealed Everton are willing to let Mina go to part-fund the signing of a central defender.

The Merseysiders would not expect to fetch more than £20million for Mina this summer, and the fee could be far lower.

He has had a mixed three years at Everton since signing from Barcelona for a fee of around £27m in 2018.

That came on the back of an impressive World Cup campaign for Colombia, and he scored against England in the knockout stages.

Ancelotti admires Mina physicality but privately believes he is too erratic and error-prone for a top-tier side.

Of Everton's four senior centre-backs, each of Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey, Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate have started at least 18 Premier League matches this season.

The Colombian has 20 Premier League starts among 25 appearances in all competitions this term.

In the last Everton match, which they drew 1-1 against Crystal Palace, he played in a three-man defence alongside Keane and Holgate.
