Sources: West Brom in advanced talks for Leicester winger Marc Albrighton

West Brom in advanced talks to sign Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton on loan, sources have told Football Insider.

The Baggies are looking to complete a last-gasp deal for the 33-year-old before the end of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Carlos Corberan could be in need of more attacking reinforcements at West Brom should Karlan Grant head for the exit at The Hawthorns.

Football Insider sources revealed earlier today that Grant has agreed terms to join Championship rivals Swansea City on loan.

Albrighton has slipped down Brendan Rodgers’ pecking order at Leicester over the last few seasons, with both Harvey Barnes and Ayoze Perez providing stiff competition.

The experienced winger has made just six appearances for The Foxes this season and failed to complete a full 90-minute match in the Premier League.

He’s played in all three of Leicester’s last three matches against Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Brighton, but only due to Leicester’s lengthy injury list.

Albrighton joined Leicester in 2014 following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.

During his nine seasons at the club, he has helped Leicester win the Premier League in the 2015/16 season as well as play a part in their FA Cup triumph in 2021.

He has made over 200 league appearances for Leicester and scored 13 league goals during his time at the King Power Stadium.

Prior to his spell at the Foxes, Albrighton spent five years at boyhood club Aston Villa after graduating from their academy in 2009.
