Championship trio Charlton, Wigan and Barnsley have enquired about taking West Brom midfielder Sam Field on loan, Football Insider understands.

Charlton, Wigan and Barnsley are all keen to strengthen their midfield options before Thursday's transfer deadline and have made Field their top target.

Field was not involved for West Brom in their opening day Championship win over Nottingham Forest and a source close to the midlands club has told Football Insider that Baggies boss Slaven Bilic is open to letting the player go out on loan.

The 21-year-old has come through the ranks at West Brom and has made 40 appearances for the club since making his debut in 2016.

He made 18 appearances in all competitions last season for West Brom, but with his first-team chances set to be limited he will be allowed to leave the Hawthorns on loan for the first time.

Field has also starred for the England Under-20 side, making 12 appearances for his country.
