Sources: West Ham submit £15m bid for Aguerd
West Ham have tabled a £15million bid for Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
But the Ligue 1 club are expected to reject it as they look to keep hold of their star centre-back.
A West Ham source has told Football Insider that Aguerd is a top target as they look to strengthen with a new senior central defender.
This site broke the news on 6th July that the Hammers had opened preliminary talks with the Ligue 1 club over a deal for the Morocco international.
But Rennes are playing hardball and West Ham could have to turn to alternative targets if they continue to do so.
Manager David Moyes is expected to bring in a new centre-back before the end of the transfer window.

The Irons are prepared to pay a significant sum for that player despite operating within a restricted transfer budget.
West Ham have received encouraging bulletins from talent spotters about Aguerd, who can also slot in at left-back.
Football Insider revealed on 26th March that the Irons have made the capture of a top-level centre-back a priority this summer.
The summer exit of Fabian Balbuena has left Moyes with three senior centre-backs in Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson but the latter two are 33 and 31 respectively.
Aguerd‘s value has rocketed since he joined Rennes from Dijon last summer for a fee of around £3.6million.
He had an impressive debut campaign at the side that finished 17th in last season’s Ligue 1, making 35 league starts among 40 appearances in all competitions.
