Bournemouth forward Josh King is set to snub Tottenham and stick with his current club.
This comes after the Mirror claimed Spurs were ready to make a £15million swoop for the 25-year-old.
King, who is under contract at Bournemouth until 2020, has dealt Mauricio Pochettino’s chances of signing him a hammer blow by claiming he is “100 per cent” focused.
Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: “I cannot wait for next season to start. I have enjoyed being here from day one.
“Being noticed by other clubs is positive but my focus is 100 per cent here.”
The Norway international has been in fine form for Eddie Howe’s side this season, drawing many potential suitors.
King has scored 16 goals in his 36 Premier League appearances this term, as well as providing two assists.
He has also amassed 28 caps and scored seven goals for Norway.
Football Insider verdict
King’s comments will come as a disappointment to Pochettino, who may have hoped he would fancy a move to White Hart Lane this summer. King would provide pace and power to Spurs’ side, as well as a keen eye for goal. But ultimately missing out on the 25-year-old will not hamper Spurs’ summer plans too much – Tottenham’s squad is already packed with talent. Tottenham’s main concern will be that one of their rivals for the Premier League title may sign King up, but if he stays at Bournemouth Pochettino will not be too perturbed.
