Tottenham Hotspur are among several Premier League clubs interested in signing out-of-favour Luke Shaw from Manchester United in , according to a report.
The Gambling Times report that Jose Mourinho remains unconvinced by Shaw and has opened the door to a January loan move away from Old Trafford.
Shaw has struggled to impress in Manchester since his big-money move from Southampton, and a move away has been in the offing for a while.
Mauricio Pochettino, who coached Shaw at Southampton, is said to be interested in bringing Shaw to Spurs, and the young flyer has expressed a desire to work under the Argentine again.
It is reported that several other Premier League clubs are also interested in Shaw, with the defender still held in high regard despite his fitness problems over the past couple of seasons.
Football Insider verdict:
There is no doubt that a move to Spurs would be a good one for Shaw. Pochettino is renowned for his ability to bring out the best in young players, as evidenced by Danny Rose’s transformation into an England regular. Shaw was the outstanding young talent at Southampton when Pochettino managed on the South coast, and it seems both parties would be open to a reunion. However, it would surely be more likely that such a deal would wait until the summer. Any potential deal between the two clubs may end up involving Rose going the other way, and Spurs would be loathe to lose such an established player halfway through the season. If Shaw still harbours hopes to fight for a World Cup place, then maybe a short-term move elsewhere is the better option.
