Tottenham announced a string of friendly games for the summer after the World Cup finals, with fixtures against Roma, Barcelona and AC Milan in the States – and US fans are giddy with excitement.

The news was announced on the official Tottenham Twitter page ahead of the 7.45pm Premier League kick-off against Brighton.

The fixtures will give Mauricio Pochettino a chance to test his 2018/19 Tottenham side against some of the world’s best, including Barcelona.

The three games take place over a week, with Roma on July 25, Barcelona on the 28th and Ac Milan on the 31st.

The new Premier League season kicks off on August 11, with the transfer window slamming shut on the earlier date of August 9.

Here are the best reactions from Tottenham fans to the fixture news:

However, as with most things these days it was proof that you can’t please all of the people all of the time, with fans on the East Coast complaining they were all on the west, and one fan stating it was ridiculous and that the players would need a break after the World Cup finals.
