Stan Collymore predicts Arsenal FA Cup fifth-round clash against Sutton

By Will Butcher

Stan Collymore believes Arsenal will secure a comfortable 4-0 victory over non-league Sutton United in the FA Cup.

Arsene Wenger takes his Premier League title challengers to Sutton’s Gander Green Lane in the fifth round of the Cup on Monday night, which can hold a capacity of 5,013 fans.

Posting on his personal Twitter account, former Premier League attacker Collymore believes the Gunners will score four times against Sutton with no reply and book their place in the quarter finals.

Arsenal will meet another non-league opponent in the next round if they do secure a win against Sutton, after they were drawn against Lincoln City in the quarter finals.

The Gunners have reached this far in the competition after beating Southampton 5-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium last month, largely thanks to a hat-trick from former Saints ace Theo Walcott.

However, the north London outfit come into the game under huge pressure to put things right after being outlcassed by German champions Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern secured a 5-1 win in the first leg of the Champions League’s first knockout stage on Wednesday night, causing backlash from fans and question marks over the future of Wenger.

A convincing win against Sutton should restore some morale among the Arsenal players before they face high-flying rivals Liverpool on March 4.

Elsewhere in the quarter-final draw, Middlesbrough will play host to either Man City or Huddersfield, while Chelsea face Man United and Tottenham will play Millwall.
