Chris Sutton hints Celtic must axe summer signing, urges Rodgers to start duo

Chris Sutton has hinted that Brendan Rodgers must axe summer signing Odsonne Edouard following Celtic’s 2-1 win over Partick Thistle on Tuesday night.
Edouard surprisingly started the game as both Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths were left on the bench.
With the Bhoys trailing 1-0 at half-time, Rodgers turned to Griffiths and the move worked, with the Scotland international scoring the winning goal in the game.
Sutton couldn’t understand why neither of the Hoops’ most dangerous strikers were starting the game though, and he discussed the matter on his personal Twitter account.
“Celtic turn it round… Griffiths comes on at halftime changes the game and bags the winner..1-2 Celtic. Griffiths or Moussa have to start,” he said.

The goal was only Griffith’s 11th of the season, as the player has struggled with both injuries and the rotation policy favoured by Brendan Rodgers.
As for Dembele, his future still seems to be up in the air ahead of the transfer window closing in a week’s time, as for the second game running he was an unused substitute.
The Hoops moved 11 points clear of Aberdeen after a hard-fought win at Firhill, and indeed it was the Jags who took the lead thanks to a penalty from Conor Sammon.
The second-half belonged to the Bhoys, with Scott Sinclair both winning and converting the equalising goal from the penalty spot before Griffiths’ winner.
Aberdeen have the chance to cut the gap at the top of the table to eight points when they take on Rangers on Wednesday with Celtic next in action against Hibs at Celtic Park on Saturday.
