'Isn’t the answer' - Craigan slams centre-forward as Rangers reportedly near Jan swoop

BT Sport pundit Stephen Craigan has slammed Rangers forward Eduardo Herrera, claiming the Mexican is not the answer for the Ibrox giants as they looks for someone to compete with Alfredo Morelos for a place in the starting XI.
Herrera, 29, has scored twice in 22 appearances since his summer move from UNAM Pumas and holds the dubious distinction of being the most used substitute in the Scottish Premiership so far this season.
The Ibrox side are close to signing Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings on loan, according to Sky’s Jim White, which could end up pushing Herrera further down the pecking order.
Craigan doesn’t think the Mexican centre-forward is good enough to “rival” Morelos but believes the Gers have improved their squad so far this month.
“They need a striker to rival Morelos. Herrera isn’t the answer for me so Cummings could be that rival. Can they both play together?” Craigan said on his personal Twitter account when asked by a fan about Jason Cummings possibly moving to Ibrox.

“It’s fair to say Rangers are in a better position now squad wise than when the window opened. Good reason to be optimistic for 2nd half of the season.”

The Gers have already added Sean Goss and Craigan’s former Motherwell team-mate Jamie Murphy in the January window and the addition of Cummings would give the Ibrox giants more firepower in the second-half of the season.
Graeme Murty’s side return to action on January 21st when they take on Highland League minnows Fraserburgh in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup at tiny Bellslea Park.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are expected to announce this done deal within hours after a medical is scheduled.
