Sources: Coventry City and Stoke City race to sign Kane
Coventry City and Stoke City are racing to sign QPR defender Todd Kane, Football Insider has learned.
The Championship duo are in the market for a right-back and have identified the 27-year-old as a top target.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Coventry and Stoke have both registered their interest in Kane.
He has a contract with the London outfit that runs until the summer of 2022 after joining from Chelsea on a free in 2019.
The full-back has not featured for QPR in 2021-22 and was not allocated a squad number at the outset of the campaign.
He received a seven-game ban and £6,000 fine in May for directing abusive language towards’ Brentford’s Sergi Canos.

Kane shared the right-back berth with Osman Kakay last term and made 29 appearances across all competitions.
But he has fallen further down Mike Warburton’s pecking order following the free transfer capture of Moses Odubajo in July.
Odubajo was QPR’s ninth signing of a frenzied summer transfer window so far.
Andre Dozzell, Stefan Johansen and Jordy de Wijs are among Waburton’s headline additions.
Kane was sent out on no fewer than eight loan spells after signing his first professional terms with Chelsea in 2012.
He has racked up 148 appearances in the second-tier during that time for Blackburn Rovers, Nottingham Forrest, Hull City and QPR.
Stoke finished 14th in the Championship last term while Coventry ended the season in 16th.
