Enzo Le Fee surely exit-bound after Sunderland star's 100% display vs Man City

Enzo Le Fee has quickly become one of Sunderland supporters' most loved players since his arrival at the Stadium of Light in 2025.

During the 2025-26 campaign, his first full season with the Black Cats, he finished with six goals and six assists in 40 appearances.

Of course, that helped Regis Le Bris' side to qualify for Europe, and instead of stepping back this term, he has only gone from strength to strength.

The 26-year-old already has three goal contributions in six games in 2026-27, including a well-earned assist during the thriller against Manchester City on Sunday, 20 September.

Brian Brobbey ultimately stole the show at the Etihad Stadium, becoming just the sixth player to score a hat-trick and end up on the losing side in Premier League history.

However, it was Le Fee's incredible performance that needs to be noticed, especially when trying to compete with Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo.

Fans up and down the Premier League have come to know Le Fee, so him pulling the strings against Man City will have surprised very few.

But a group of the away supporters will be becoming increasingly concerned about his potential exit in the coming months.

In 90 minutes, Le Fee created five chances, the most of anyone on the pitch, two of which were big chances, completed 100 per cent of his dribbles, and covered 11.2km [FotMob].

In the defensive third, the attacking midfielder made two interceptions, was fouled three times, and also won 71 per cent of his ground duels.

Despite the Black Cats currently playing in Europe, it is only a matter of time before a big-name club come along and snap up his signature.

What has Le Fee said about his Sunderland future?

When Le Fee joined Sunderland in the Championship, he could not be clearer with his intentions at the Stadium of Light.

He trusted Le Bris, he wanted to take the Black Cats back to the Premier League, and now he's helped lead them back to European football.

He said: "I told my agent, 'I want to go to Sunderland', and now I'm here. If I feel good in my head on the pitch, I will help the team, for sure. It's confidence."

That has certainly come to fruition, and with another three years left on his deal, Sunderland will have no intentions of cashing in anytime soon.
