Sunderland's response to Man United interest in Brian Brobbey revealed
Sunderland have no plans to sell Brian Brobbey next year as Man United plot a potential move for his services, sources have told Football Insider.
Brobbey's season burst into life last weekend as he bagged a hat-trick in Sunderland's 5-3 loss at Man City.
The Netherlands international, 24, has been a key man for the Black Cats since joining from Ajax for around £22million in 2025.
His impressive link-up play and strong performances in front of goal have seen several top clubs register an interest in his services.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Sunderland are not likely to entertain any bids from Man United as they track his progress.
The Red Devils have had Brobbey shortlisted since 2022, when he rejected the chance to follow Erik ten Hag to Old Trafford.

Brobbey is set to face some time on the sidelines after he pulled out of the Netherlands squad on Friday with a suspected hamstring injury.
He bagged seven goals in 31 appearances for the Black Cats last season, going on to score three times in four games at the World Cup for the Oranje.
The 24-year-old attracted attention from Serie A high-flyers Como in the summer window, but Sunderland made it clear that he was not for sale, and their stance remains similar ahead of January.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Sunderland have no intention of losing somebody like Brian Brobbey, who's under contract at the Stadium of Light until 2029.
"I'm sure they'll be doing everything they can to keep hold of him. He has been on Manchester United's list of targets for a while now."
