Sunderland could be forced into deciding to sell Brian Brobbey in January as he attracts interest from top clubs, sources have told Football Insider.
Brobbey's hat-trick at Man City last weekend was a stark reminder of the quality and potential he possesses.
The Netherlands international, 24, has been a real success at Sunderland since joining from Ajax for around £22million last year.
He netted seven times in 32 games last season and has continued to impress in front of goal and with his all-round game in this campaign.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Sunderland are aware of interest in his services from bigger clubs and could field bids for his services in the next transfer window.
The 24-year-old could face some time on the sidelines after pulling out of the Netherlands squad on Friday with a suspected hamstring injury he suffered against Germany.

Sunderland made it clear that they had no plans to sell Brobbey as Serie A high-flyers registered their interest in his services late in the summer window.
He is set to attract more suitors ahead of January if his fine form continues, with several Premier League clubs tracking his progress.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Obviously if you're scoring goals and performing well, there's going to be interest from top clubs in you, that's for sure.
"Brobbey's hat-trick against Man City has not done him any harm whatsoever, but Sunderland are keen to keep hold of him."

Tottenham are sat at the foot of the Premier League table right now, having scored just twice in their first five games of the season.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Spurs admire Brobbey and could make a move for his services in January.
Sunderland are likely to demand over £50m for his services, which would represent a huge profit 18 months on from his arrival.
