Supercomputer updates Tottenham and West Ham relegation prediction after latest Premier League results
Tottenham Hotspur have seen their chances of being relegated from the Premier League boosted significantly after Saturday’s games.
Roberto De Zerbi’s team won their first Premier League game in four months when they beat Wolves at Molineux 1-0.
Joao Palhinha poked in to hand Tottenham the advantage in a cagey game that easily could have gone either way.
News that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall cancelled out Tomas Soucek’s opener at West Ham filtered in shortly after and sparked brief celebrations, before Callum Wilson’s stoppage-time winner brought those to an end.
It will be encouraging to De Zerbi that Tottenham’s disastrous form has come to an end, however, and there will be more confidence going forward.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on Saturday that Daniel Levy will struggle to sell his stake if Tottenham are relegated in the coming weeks, amid talks to sell his 29.88 per cent stake in ENIC.
It is easy to underestimate just how devastating relegation is for any club, but especially how ruthless it would be for the Lilywhites.
| Tottenham – Final four | Date |
| Aston Villa (A) | 3 May |
| Leeds United (H) | 11 May |
| Chelsea (A) | 17 May |
| Everton (H) | 24 May |
The North London club still owe a lot of money in instalments for signings, and have not totally finished paying off their mega new stadium.
Sponsors would walk away, broadcast and matchday incomes would be reduced severely, and the money from both the Premier League and the European competitions Tottenham have been involved in would be shut off.
The Lilywhites’ revenue streams could be halved, with the club facing immense financial pressure if they are relegated.
Luckily, De Zerbi’s are still alive and kept themselves afloat by winning on Saturday, but the battle still appears uphill.
Opta‘s supercomputer has handed Tottenham a 59.91 per cent chance of being relegated, up from 46.50 per cent just 12 days ago.
West Ham’s chances of going down remain at 37.37 per cent, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side far from out of the woods yet.
The biggest weekend of Tottenham’s season
Nottingham Forest could still be dragged back into the relegation battle once more, but their own win on Friday was both a third consecutive win and a massive boost in goal difference.
The main contenders remain Tottenham and West Ham, and next weekend could be the key moment in the race.
West Ham will travel to Brentford on Saturday, where, if they emerge victorious, they will go five points ahead.
On Sunday, Tottenham will travel to Aston Villa attempting to pull off an upset. Prove unsuccessful, and the Hammers would be just five points from safety.
