Talks scheduled as £450k Rangers target drops hint about move to UK - report
By Matt Bullin
Bruno Alves is flattered by Rangers’ interest in him and it is said it would cost the Scottish club £450,000 to sign him, according to a report.
The Daily Record claims the 35-year-old, who has one year left on his contract, will meet with Cagliari officials this week to talk about his future amid interest from the Gers.
The Euro 2016 winner has even admitted playing in the UK appeals to him.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Alves said: “If Caixinha is interested in me it’s good news because every Portuguese coach knows about my work.
“I have never played in the UK before but it seems like an incredible atmosphere to play your football.”

This comes after Italian publication La Nouva reported that the 85-time Portugal international would snub Rangers to see out the final year of his contract at Cagliari.
Alves has been a mainstay of his side’s defence this campaign and has featured in all but one of their Serie A games.
Football Insider verdict
The £450,000 price tag seems slightly steep for a 35-year-old, but Rangers will be paying for his experience should they get him. Having played more than 100 matches for Zenit, Porto and Fenerbahce, there are not many better travelled centre-backs in world football, and he can still perform at the top level. His quotes sound encouraging as well, and he may look for a move to UK, where he has never played before, to see out his career. Rangers need leaders and they need defensive reinforcements – if they can get Alves for the right price, he fits both billings.
