'Just buy some defenders' - Arsenal fans fume at reports of latest Wenger target
Arsenal are being linked with a move for Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir, with the Gunners looking to close a deal for the player before the start of the 2018 World Cup, according to a report.
The Mail understands that Arsene Wenger has targeted the player who is being compared to French legend Youri Djorkaeff, as his most wanted this summer.
Fekir is rated at £45million and was instrumental on Thursday night, helping his side beat Villareal 3-1 with a goal in the victory.
Gunners scouts were also spotted watching RB Leibzig striker Timo Werner in the German side’s 3-1 win over Napoli in the Europa League.
But supporters of the Gunners are seemingly underwhelmed by the rumours of the club being linked to the player and feel it would be a better bet if Wenger were to rectify some of the more obvious positions that need attention this summer.
Arsenal’s lack of quality in the defensive midfield areas and at the back have been glaringly obvious for some time now, yet the manager has failed to rectify those issues.
Much to the disbelief of the Gunners faithful and if these Tweets are anything to go by, fans would rather a defensive player or two arrive at the Emirates before any more attacking players find their way in.
Here is a selection of Twitter responses to the transfer gossip:
Ffs look for a world class CB or CDM instead of buying average French players from a farmer league….

If true.. Where exactly will he play? Our attack is fine. Focus on getting a DM and improving our defence.
