'The player has other ideas...' - Exclusive: Paul Robinson tips 'Incredible' Everton player to quit
Paul Robinson has claimed Leighton Baines will know where he wants to play next season as his Everton contract approaches its end.
The former Spurs and Leeds United keeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed the 35-year-old still had what it takes to play in the Premier League.
The defender’s current contract expires at the end of June having spent 13 years with the Toffees.
However, the veteran defender is no longer the first-choice left-back at Goodison Park, as he had been for so many years, with Lucas Digne preferred by Carlo Ancelotti.
When asked if he expected the left-back to sign a new deal on Merseyside, Robinson told Football Insider: “A fantastic servant. Anyone who has been at a club that length of time is just incredible.
“The fact that his contract has gone down this late in the season you would expect that the player has other ideas and other places he is looking at finishing his career.

“He is 35 but he is still able to play. When he has come into the team this year we have seen that he is still able to perform at that level.
“It is down to the player’s ambition. It is not just a football decision. It is about his lifestyle. Does he want to be in this country?
“I have no doubt that he can still play for another two or three years. He looks after himself very well and can still cut it in the Premier League.”
Baines has been limited to just six appearances in all competitions this campaign.
The left-back, who has played 570 times for the Toffees, may be surplus to requirements on Merseyside with Carlo Ancelotti likely to revamp his squad this summer.
