Aston Villa have made major changes to their squad this season with a total of 17 players joining the Championship club since their relegation from the Premier League.
Steve Bruce will be looking to offload the unwanted players in his squad at the end of the season with the club aiming for a promotion charge next term.
Here, Football Insider analyses the three most likely senior players to leave Villa Park at the end of the next transfer window.
The 23-year-old has fallen behind January signing Neil Taylor in the Villa Park pecking order and it won’t be a surprise to see him leave in the summer. The club’s owner revealed earlier on in the campaign that they had turned down a big money offer for the Frenchman. Another offer of that sort may well see Villa happily allow Amavi to leave with the permission of Bruce.
Defender Richards has been a disastrous signing since he joined the club during the summer of 2015. He suffered relegation with the Midlands side last season and has featured on only one occasion under Bruce since he arrived in October. The former England international may just be the player Bruce offloads so he can free up the wage bill at the club.
Once again another player that has been used sporadically from Bruce which perhaps suggests what the promotion expert thinks of him. Bacuna is currently serving a six-match suspension for chest pumping a linesman. His actions wouldn’t have gone down well with his manager who could decide to sell him at the end of the season. Just like Richards, getting Bacuna off the wage bill and bringing in a player that can contribute and play more regularly could be factors in his sale.
