‘This is what I’ve heard about Everton bid to sign Liam Delap’ amid Chelsea training ground noise – Ex-CEO
Everton’s interest in Liam Delap has cooled amid concerns which have been raised from his time at Chelsea.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking to Football Insider, who reveals what he is “hearing” about Delap moving to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The 23-year-old was a target for Everton last summer, but the striker chose to join Chelsea instead in a £30million move from Ipswich.
Delap has struggled for form and game time at Stamford Bridge, and could be sold after just one season at the club.
Everton could reignite their interest in Delap this summer, as David Moyes looks to strengthen his attacking options.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Delap made a “mistake” joining Chelsea.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks that Moyes will be doing his homework on Delap amid “question marks” over his attitude.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s going to be tough. Liam Delap was certainly a favourite before he went to Chelsea and I think he made a mistake.
“It might have been better for Delap to have gone to Everton. So there is an interest there. But, from what I’m hearing, he has changed a little bit himself in terms of his mental attitude while he’s been at Chelsea and perhaps isn’t the front-runner that we thought he was before. But there is still an interest.
“There is obviously a need at Everton for somebody up front to be consistent, and perhaps his hunger may not be there like it was coming up from Ipswich before. He’s a different type of personality now, so we’ve got to see how Moyes looks at him from that point of view.
“Moyes will be doing his research on the mental side of how Liam Delap is performing at the moment. But as I say, there are more question marks than there were before.”
Everton keeping tabs on Burnley forward
Alongside a striker, Everton are looking to add a new winger to their squad alongside the expected signing of Jack Grealish this summer.
Sources have told Football Insider that Everton have sent scouts to watch Burnley forward Loum Tchaouna ahead of a possible summer pursuit.
The 22-year-old could be a cheaper alternative than other transfer targets due to Burnley’s relegation to the Championship.
Tchaouna would be a bright prospect for the future, and he contributed two goals for the Clarets in the Premier League this season.
