Three reasons why Aston Villa summer signing has outperformed on-loan Leeds player
COMMENT by Amir Mir
Since their respective moves to Aston Villa and Leeds in the summer, it is fair to say that both Albert Adomah and Hadi Sacko have had different campaigns.
Here, Football Insider looks at three reasons why Adomah has outperformed the on-loan Whites player in the Championship this season.
Better ability in the final third
Both Adomah and Sacko play on the right wing, but it seems only one of them wants to regularly produce crosses and provide the attacking threat in the final third. There is no doubt that Sacko is quicker than Adomah, but the latter’s decision-making is far superior to his counterparts. Whilst Adomah will continually provide the ball to his attackers, Sacko would overrun the ball and, as a result, lose possession.
Better link up play with the striker

One thing the two individuals cannot moan about is the strikers they play with at their respective clubs. Sacko plays alongside the Championship’s top scorer, Chris Wood, while Adomah is teammates with, Jonathan Kodjia, who has scored 19 goals this term. However, over the course of the season, Adomah has built the better partnership with Kodjia compared with the Elland Road duo. From their link up play to their movement, Adomah has proven he has the better footballing brain than the youngster.
No match statistically
While Garry Monk’s side have been in the promotion places for the majority of the season, Villa have had a disappointing campaign. Yet, Sacko has still disappointed for his side despite their success on the field. He has provided only four assists this term added with his two goals, while Adomah has supplied 11 assists and found the back of the net on three occasions. Another area in which Adomah has faired better than Sacko.
In other Aston Villa news, these two Villa matches could help end years of heartache for Leeds.
