Three strikers Rangers could sign in the summer to replace Waghorn
COMMENT By Harvey Byrne
Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn is reportedly attracting a number of clubs, including famous Championship duo Leeds and Nottingham Forest.
The Daily Mail claimed on Tuesday that the Yorkshire giants were keeping close tabs on the 27-year-old, while the report also named Midlands giants Forest as an interested party after former boss Mark Warburton took charge of the club.
Waghorn is currently Rangers’ joint top scorer in the Premiership alongside Kenny Miller with the pair sharing six league goals between themselves.
However, it would not be the worst move if the Gers hierarchy allowed Waghorn to leave and here, Football Insider have identified three possible striker replacements:

Former Scotland Under-19 international and Southampton striker is currently on loan at Championship side Blackburn.
The powerful 21-year-old is doing well for Tony Mowbray’s side and has returned 11 goals and four assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for the Lancashire side.
He has also played 18 times in England’s top-flight, scoring one Premier League goal.
With time still well on his side and his contract on the south coast set to expire in the summer of 2018, he would certainly be an affordable replacement for Rangers.
Jason Cummings
Due to some expected budget constraints Rangers may have to look lower down the Scottish football pyramid and 21-year-old Hibernian striker Cummings will certainly have caught the eye.
The youngster is currently leading the Championship goal charts with 16 goals from 24 league appearances for the first placed side.
Altogether he has 20 goals in 32 appearances and since making his debut for Hibs in 2013 he has scored an excellent 68 goals in 141 outings.
Cummings is another one that will only get better in the future and his goals could prove to be worth their weight in gold if Rangers do sign him.
Oliver McBurnie
Scotland Under-21 international McBurnie is extremely highly rated at Swansea and has already made five appearances for the first team.
A loan move would be the most realistic for Rangers at this stage of his career, but it is one that the club should definitely look to complete.
The 20-year-old bagged two goals and one assist as Swansea ran out 3-1 victors over Peterborough in the EFL Cup earlier in the season and his four other appearances have come in the Premier League from the bench in this current campaign.
He has also bagged a fine 15 goals in 17 appearances for the Swans Under-23s this season and with the Gers’ history of loaning from England’s top-flight in recent years it would not be too surprising if they were to scour the loan market for Waghorn’s replacement.
