Leeds will be fretting: Three things to expect from Aston Villa clash against Reading
By Amir Mir
Aston Villa welcome promotion chasers Reading to the Midlands on Saturday afternoon, looking to dent their opponents chances of securing a play-off spot.
Here, Football Insider takes a look at three things to expect from the Championship encounter at the weekend.
Reading to have more possession
Jaap Stam has based the Royals style of play around possession this term and for the majority of the campaign, it has worked. They have had most of the ball for the majority of games they have played and that run is expected to continue at Villa Park. Steve Bruce’s side are not known for their possession play, so it won’t be a surprise to see the away team have a large chunk of the ball.

The Midlands outfit have scored in every home match this season, bar the defeat against Ipswich in March. Added with that, they have won five matches on the bounce in front of their home supporters and have not conceded a goal. Therefore, it is once again highly likely that they will find the back of the net.
Leeds will be fretting
Garry Monk’s side take on second-placed Newcastle on Friday night, where a defeat against Rafa Benitez’ side will not be a surprise. Therefore, Leeds will be hoping those teams around them drop points in order to give them that extra push. If Leeds do lose on Friday night then you can expect them to be watching this game and fretting, hoping Villa can do them a massive favour.
