Tim Sherwood shares Daniel Farke sack latest after Leeds win vs Brighton: ‘I keep hearing whispers…’
Tim Sherwood has hinted that Daniel Farke’s position as Leeds United manager is still not totally secure after his team beat Brighton 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The German has overseen a remarkable turnaround in the second half of the season to help secure his team’s place in the Premier League for next year with several games to spare.
The Whites have had little to play for in recent weeks, but that hasn’t stopped them from stringing together an eight-game unbeaten run in the league, and they notched another three points on Sunday.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin netted a 96th-minute winner for the West Yorkshire outfit with their only shot on target of the game, as they prevented Brighton from sealing a European place.
Farke’s long-term future at Leeds has been questioned on several occasions throughout the campaign, and Sherwood remains adamant that he is still living dangerously at Elland Road.

Leeds have been resurgent in recent months, and on the face of it, they have had a strong season upon their return to the top flight.
Farke’s men are on course to finish 13th in the league in their first year back at the top table of English football, and also reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time in 39 years.

The boss has faced prolonged periods of scrutiny since he first took the reins back in 2023, and Sherwood has now suggested that there are still question marks over him behind the scenes.
The former Tottenham and Aston Villa boss indicated that the Leeds board may not be totally satisfied with Farke on Sky Sports News on Sunday, as he hinted that he could yet be dismissed this summer.
“He (Farke) has got to be careful, I’m still hearing whispers that they (Leeds) might not be happy with him,” the 57-year-old said.
“It’s a huge football club, I think he’s done a wonderful job. Football is crazy, there are rumours about Rregis Le Bris as well. They’re just rumours, but sometimes there’s no smoke without fire.
“I find it extraordinary that it’s two of those guys who have done unbelievable jobs this season.”
Leeds among Premier League elite in recent months
Football Insider revealed at the start of November that Gary O’Neil was a target for Leeds, as they had plans in place if they decided to sack Farke at that stage of the campaign.
However, the 49-year-old has since had his team standing firmly among the Premier League’s elite in the second half of the campaign, as they have drastically turned their fortunes around.
LUFCDATA revealed via their X account on Sunday that the Whites have taken 36 points since the beginning of December, a total that has only been bettered by five other clubs in the league.
That is surely the strongest possible evidence that Farke is still the right man to take Leeds forward next term, given that he has clearly maximised every ounce of potential from this set of players.
Leeds will undoubtedly have ambitions of progressing into the top half in the coming years, but Farke is capable of taking them to new heights if they back him in the transfer market.
