Tony Cascarino names Tottenham duo in TOTW after White Hart Lane farewell
By Will Butcher
Tony Cascarino has named Ben Davies and Victor Wanyama in his team of the week after starring in Tottenham’s win over Manchester United.
Spurs earned a 2-1 victory over Jose Mourinho’s side in their last ever fixture at White Hart Lane, which is to be demolished and rebuilt while Spurs relocate to Wembley for 2017-18.
In his Times column, former Chelsea star Cascarino named both Davies and Wanyama in his side, along with Bournemouth hotshot Josh King and ex-Spurs defender Kyle Naughton.
Wales international Davies provided the assist for Kenya captain Wanyama to break the deadlock during the first half of Sunday’s triumph over United.
Crossing from the left, former Swansea left-back Davies sent a perfect ball into the box, leaving marker Wayne Rooney unable to prevent Wanyama from powering a header home.

Davies kept Jesse Lingard quiet all afternoon, nullifying the England international, while Wanyama produced an incisive array of passing and was combative at the right times.
Spurs doubled the lead over United thanks to striker Harry Kane, who struck his 28th goal of the season by flicking home a Christian Eriksen cross, despite being marked closely by Chris Smalling.
Wayne Rooney scored a consolation for his side, but nothing was to stop Spurs in their last ever game at White Hart Lane.
Next up for Spurs is a trip to Craig Shakespeare’s Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night, as they now play for pride.
