Tottenham legend Graham Roberts has taken a swipe at Thierry Henry for his comments on Sky Sports after Spurs’ 3-1 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Arsenal hero suggested that Spurs may not be able to keep hold of their best players and did not seem to sure about the futures of Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld.

Roberts was clearly furious with Henry’s punditry and took to his personal Twitter account to hit out at the Frenchman.

“Why are you talking rubbish Henry? You are paid £3million a year to talk total trash,” he said.

Spurs earned their first win in 28 years at Stamford Bridge on Easter Sunday and solidified their spot in the top four.

Alvaro Morata headed Chelsea into a first-half lead but wonder-goals by Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli turned the game on it’s head before the England midfielder double his tally to earn an emphatic 3-1 win.

Football Insider verdict

Roberts is clearly very defensive about the thought of Spurs losing some of their best players in the summer, but Henry really does have a point. Rose has struggled to get starts thanks to Mauricio Pochettino preferring Ben Davies and the England left-back has spoke out in the past about his unhappiness. As for Alderweireld it seems that he is definitely off. He was fit to play for Belgium and fans reckon that Pochettino wanted to rest him for perhaps the biggest game of the season? No chance. This may become a common theme over the next couple of years unless Spurs win something major.
