Tottenham in advanced negotiations as Euro giants play hardball over £22m swoop - report
Tottenham are in advanced negotiations with Paris Saint Germain over a £22million swoop for Lucas Moura but there are no deals in place despite recent claims, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claim that Spurs are still locked in discussions with the European giants over agreeing a fee for the 25-year-old winger, despite having been allowed to talk with the player himself by the French side.
However, despite claims from RMC that a move had been agreed and a four-year deal agreed to, the Mail’s report insists that there is still work to be done for the move to be completed due to a difference in valuation of the Brazilian star.
He has made just six appearances for PSG after falling out of favour this season, with a total of 229 outings under his belt for the French giants.
Football Insider verdict
Perhaps Tottenham are not as close to signing the Brazilian winger as they thought they were, with PSG appearing to play hardball over agreeing a deal. While the player seems keen, the disparity between the two clubs needs to be sorted out sooner rather than later, with Wednesday’s transfer deadline creeping up slowly but surely. While Spurs might be confident of getting the deal done, the transfer window has a habit of throwing up several stumbling blocks, and they will have to work at their very hardest to ensure they secure what would be a very exciting signing for the rest of the season and beyond.
