Tottenham backed to complete two 'big' January signings as mass exodus on the cards - expert
Tottenham must repeat the success of last season’s January transfer window to maintain their good form in the second half of the campaign.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
The January transfer window will open shortly after the resumption of the Premier League on Boxing Day.
Spurs have enjoyed an impressive start to the 2022-23 season as they sit fourth in the Premier League and have secured progression to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
However, Wenham insists the side needs at least two “big” signings in January,
“A minimum of two signings need to be made,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Not just two Pape Sarr’s on Destiny Udogie’s, players who are going to come in and help right now, like we signed last January.
“It has two be a minimum of two coming in but I think we will see a significant number of players head out on loan as well.
“The likes of Sarr, Tanganga, Spence, White. I know it is a busy second half of the season but these guys have barely kicked a ball during the first half so how likely is it they will see any more action this season?
“We have had multiple injuries and they still haven’t played. We are stunting their development at the moment
“We got Kulusesvski and Bentancur last year, we need a similarly impressive window this season. Those guys are big players for us now.”
Kulusevski made his return from injury in Sunday’s (6 November) loss against Liverpool.
Spurs are next in league action against Leeds on Saturday (12 November).
