Paul Robinson has urged Tottenham to hand Antonio Conte a new contract, funds and a bonus if Champions League football is secured this season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-White Hart Lane number one said "there is no hiding place for the board" if Conte leaves the club.

According to The Telegraph‘s Matt Law (6 May), Spurs are targeting a move for Brighton manager Graham Potter amid fears Conte could quit at the end of the season.

Conte, 52, signed an 18-month contract when he was appointed Nuno Espirito Santo's success in November.

Speaking to Sky Sports (29 April), the Italian manager dismissed reports linking him with Paris Saint-Germain as "fake news."

When asked by Football Insider's Dylan Childs for his thoughts on Conte's future, Robinson said: 'They need to do everything they can to keep him.

"If they get Champions League this season you give him a new contract, funds to build the team and a bonus.

Tottenham

"There is no hiding place now for the Spurs board. The club have regressed from the Champions League final. They should have progressed. They have the best stadium and facilities and one of the best managers.

"If success doesn't come it is because of what is happening at the top. The manager needs to be given the tools to do his job."
