Kieran Maguire backs 'visionary' Tottenham to land £250m-plus windfall after BBC reveal
Tottenham deserve huge credit for their "visionary" stadium design as it is likely to attract lucrative sponsorship deals.
So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the merits of the 62,000-capacity north London arena.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was named among the Royal Institution of British Architects' Buildings of the Year, as per the BBC on 9 September.
This site revealed back in February that Daniel Levy is holding out for a £25million-a-year naming rights deal for the stadium.
That arrangement would be spread across a minimum of 10 years.
And Maguire claims the venue's stunning design makes it all the more likely to attract a big-money commercial partner.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: "Sponsors are going to want to be associated with something modern and stylish, absolutely.
"You couldn't have a better piece of architecture to try to present to them. The stadium has been a tremendous success.
"I've been there and it rises out of the neighbourhood spectacularly. They wanted something that was more than glorified breezeblocks.
"I've been to all the new stadiums and this is the only one where I have thought it was really astounding.
"You have got to give credit to the club for being willing to spend a bit more in terms of design, for being visionary in their approach.
"Lots of stadiums nowadays are effectively modular, Lego-style stadiums. So this award is rightly deserved."
