Tottenham could offer Brighton 'best deal ever' for Lamptey amid Sky report - pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Tottenham fans would be thrilled with the signing of Brighton right-back Tariq Lamptey.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 20-year-old would be a “really exciting” addition in north London.
Sky Sports have reported (June 16th) Tottenham are interested in signing the Seagulls’ star as a possible replacement for Serge Aurier.
Lamptey joined Brighton from Chelsea for a reported £3million in January 2020.
Hutton insisted the prodigal defender is the sort of hot prospect Spurs fans would love to see at the club.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He can play as a wing-back or full-back, he’s a bundle of energy.

“I think Brighton have got the best deal ever. What did they buy him for, £2-3million? We’re probably talking about a big figure here.
“I think he had an excellent start to the season. Yeah, he did drop off a little bit but that’s to be expected.
“Your first main season within the Premier League, especially for one so young, you’re going to have a little dip in form.
“I think that’s a move that the fans would be really excited about. He’s an exciting player and he’s going to get better as he gets more experienced.
“I think it’s one the fans would like.”
Lamptey has played 20 times in the Premier League so far, while he has also featured for England’s under-21s.
However, he suffered a hamstring injury in December that ended up keeping him out the rest of the 2020/21 season.
