Tottenham could sign Man United star Henderson after Telegraph update - pundit
Noel Whelan has suggested Tottenham could sign Manchester United’s Dean Henderson or West Brom’s Sam Johnstone over Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted he has not been convinced by the Toffees star after some “massive blunders” at Goodison Park.
As reported by the Telegraph (18th November), Antonio Conte wants a British goalkeeper as Hugo Lloris’ long-term successor and has set sights on 27-year-old Pickford.
Lloris’ contract expires at the end of the season, although he reportedly could still sign an extension.
As revealed by Football Insider back in September, Spurs have also shown strong interest in Baggies star Johnstone.
The England international, 28, is also out of contract next summer.

However, Whelan suggested Spurs could target Henderson, 24, too as he angles for a move away from Old Trafford.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (16th November) the 24-year-old has been told he can leave United on loan in January in pursuit of regular game time.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “When it comes to Jordan Pickford, we’ve seen the good and the bad over the past three seasons with Everton.
“International-wise, he’s been pretty much spot on. He’s not made any mistakes when it comes to playing for England. Domestic football, we’ve seen some massive blunders.
“It’s a bit of a strange one for me. I know he’s an international, England’s number one but you’ve also got Henderson at Manchester United who wants out.
“He could be a good replacement for Tottenham as well. If they’re looking to get an English goalkeeper, you’ve got Sam Johnstone at West Brom.
“There are a number of good English goalkeepers out there which Tottenham could turn to.”
