Tottenham defender Tanganga is 'ferocious' and 'vicious' - pundit
Japhet Tanganga has been a “breath of fresh air” for Tottenham and they should not be worried about his suspension this weekend.
That is the view of ex-Aston Villa and England attacker Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as he hailed Tanganga’s “ferocious and vicious” style of play.
Tanganga was able to keep his place at the heart of defence in the Europa Conference League despite being sent off against Crystal Palace.
He received two yellow cards at Selhurst Park last weekend meaning he will miss the visit of Chelsea on Sunday.
In the 2-2 draw away to Rennes on Thursday night Tanganga completed 77 passes – more than anybody else on the pitch, according to sofascore.
Tanganga has started the first three of Spurs’ games this term at right-back but was moved into the middle against Palace and Rennes.

Asked whether his disciplinary issues should concern Tottenham, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He’s that sort of player, ferocious and vicious.
“I thought he did very well in the game at the weekend against Zaha too.
“I don’t mind it but the manager may have said ‘You’re on a yellow card, calm down a bit.
“But for me, he’s been a breath of fresh air for Spurs this season.”
Tangana has now featured in 29 games for Spurs across all competitions since making his debut in the EFL Cup in September 2019.
The 22-year-old has also played twice for England Under-21s.
