Alex Bruce insists that Jose Mourinho will have no hesitation in freezing out Tanguy Ndombele if he is being disruptive behind the scenes at Tottenham.

The former Premier League defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, has urged the France international to “keep his head down” after a season where he has found himself in the spotlight time and again.

As revealed by Football Insider earlier this week, the board have been left fuming with what they view as an orchestrated effort from the 23-year-old’s camp to push his way out of north London.

French TV channel TF1 claim Ndombele has told Jose Mourinho he does not want to work with him any more, with further reports stating the issues have stemmed from a training ground altercation.

However, Bruce insists there is only one winner if the midfielder is going to take on the Spurs boss and the club.

Asked about the trouble surrounding Ndombele, Bruce told Football Insider: “He won’t be the first, he won’t be the last. God knows what’s going on behind the scenes but if anyone thinks they’re bigger than the club – and that counts for every club, not just Tottenham – nine times out of ten the club always wins.

“My advice to him is just get your head down, they obviously paid a lot of money for him and he’s not really done much as of yet at Tottenham.

“One thing’s for sure, Jose Mourinho has let go of bigger and better players than him. You try and take him on, you try and be disruptive but you can only take it so far.

“He is a good player, he is going to be an asset to Tottenham but whatever keeps bubbling in the background, like it’s persistently been doing, it needs to be sorted out for both parties to be sorted.”

Ndombele, the club’s record signing, has played a total of 27 times across all competitions since joining last summer.

However, he has been left as an unused substitute for the club’s first two games back from lockdown.

In other Tottenham news, it can be REVEALED that the club have been given big hope of signing 26-year-old desperate to join them.
