Paul Robinson is worried by Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele’s fitness ahead of the trip to Liverpool tomorrow.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former White Hart Lane number one pointed to the fact the 23-year-old has only completed 90 minutes in two of his 32 Premier League appearances.

The centre-midfielder is yet to complete a full match in the league this season and played 67 minutes of the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Ndombele was signed by Spurs for a club-record fee of £63million in July 2019 but endured a difficult first campaign in England.

He was publicly criticised and frozen out by Jose Mourinho last season but since the 6-1 win over Manchester United in October he has gone from strength to strength.

Ahead of the trip to Anfield tomorrow night, Football Insider asked Robinson if he was concerned by the midfielder’s statistics, he said:

“Ndombele has still only completed two Premier League games since he arrived at Spurs.

“He is the club’s record signing but he has only completed two league matches. Yes, Spurs have a great squad but it is concerning.

“He has had his critics over the past year but he is coming into his own now.

“This is the time now where Ndombele and others need to step up. The festive period is going to be a test for Spurs and if they can get to the new year there or thereabouts then they have got a real chance of winning the league this year.”

In other news, this is the Tottenham player who has profited most from Mauricio Pochettino’s sack.
