Tottenham expert drops 'huge' Arne Slot claim after source's reveal
Alan Hutton has suggested Arne Slot could be the manager to sort out the “mess” at Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs defender said it will be a “huge job” but think Slot will “tick a lot of boxes” for the London club.
On Monday (22 May), sources told this site that the Lilywhites are increasingly confident of appointing the Feyenoord boss as their new manager this week.
Negotiations are progressing well and Tottenham expect to announce Slot’s appointment within the coming days, if they can secure an agreement.
On Wednesday (23 May), Football Insider revealed that Spurs are willing to give the Dutchman control over transfers and his coaching staff if he agrees to join the London club.
Hutton believes the 44-year-old is a good match for Tottenham.

“He is a young guy, just off the back of winning the league title with Feyenoord so he is in a good place at this moment in time,” he told Football Insider.
“All these Dutch managers are kind of in the same mould, they like to play football. You look at the way [Erik] Ten Hag has come in a done well after being at Ajax for a number of years. It is kind of the next step for Dutch managers.
“Obviously Slot is looking for that opportunity. Tottenham is a massive football club but they are in a bit of a mess. It is a big job ahead of him but I think he is going to tick a lot of boxes for Tottenham moving forward.
“It is a huge job but also a big opportunity as well.“
