Tottenham expert fears Man United will win Christian Eriksen race after journalist's update
Alan Hutton fears Christian Eriksen may prove to be “the one that got away” for Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, ex-Spurs right back Hutton said that not signing Eriksen, 30, could prove to be a mistake for the London club.
Football.London‘s Alasdair Gold reported (20 June) that Tottenham have not followed up on their initial interest to sign the Danish international.
The attacking midfielder joined Brentford in January and his contract is due to expire next month.
There has been interest in the player from a number of Premier League clubs this summer, one of which is Manchester United.
According to Goal (20 June), Erik ten Hag has told his superiors to deliver the signing of the ex-Spurs midfielder.

When asked by Football Insider if he thought letting Eriksen go to Manchester United would be a mistake, Hutton said “Of course it could be.
“Time will tell. I think at 30 years of age he’s proved to everyone at Brentford that he’s still very hungry.
“He’s fit enough, he can deal with the stresses and the strains in the Premier League.
“So I think he could be the one that got away because I think he’s got something that Tottenham missed this season.
“As deadly as Kane and Son are, if you look at the midfield it’s all very defensive.
“I know they brought in [Rodrigo] Bentancur but they’ve got [Harry] Winks, [Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg, [Oliver] Skipp, all these guys who are very defensive and I think they miss that attacking flair, something that Eriksen could give them.
“And the possibility for him to go to Manchester United, I think he’ll do well there.”
