Tottenham expert in awe of Hugo Lloris after what he's heard from club source

Tottenham star Hugo Lloris deserves “all the credit” after playing through illness in his side’s 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday (15 May).

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

As quoted by Jonathan Veal after the game, Antonio Conte admitted Lloris played through a fever] as he didn’t want to miss the important clash.

Wenham admitted there was no way Lloris would miss such a vital game.

“I was told by a club source on Thursday that, Lloris, Gollini, Kulusevski and Ryan Mason were all suffering with this illness,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Not covid based, which is the good thing. The thing is I was told on Thursday, and he played against Arsenal that night.

“So I think he played through that game with the illness as well which just shows how determined he is to play a role in these final games.

“I think another point to make is that he wouldn’t play if he didn’t feel he could perform.

“I’m sure Tottenham have supplements to get players through these kinds of illnesses as well, I’m sure it’s more common than you might think.

“In fairness, he had very little to do against Burnley other than saving a Maxwel Cornet shot.

“That being said, he deserves all the credit going forward.”

Lloris has played every minute of Spurs’ Premier League season.

His side are next in action against Norwich on the final day of the season (22 May).
