Tottenham expert makes 'huge' Evan Ferguson claim after source's reveal
Alan Hutton has insisted joining Tottenham would be a “huge step up” for Evan Ferguson.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Aston Villa defender said that Ferguson would massively struggle for game time if Harry Kane stays in London but could benefit by learning from the striker.
On 27 March, sources told this site that the Lilywhites are among the Premier League clubs interested in signing the 18-year-old this summer.
The striker has been impressing under Roberto de Zerbi and has scored three goals in ten Premier League appearances this season.
Ferguson has also been excelling on the international stage and netted his first goal for the Republic of Ireland in their 3-2 win over Latvia in what was his first senior start last week (22 March).
On 29 March, Football Insider revealed that the Seagulls are set to offer the striker a new contract amid interest from the likes of Tottenham and are confident they will be able to keep him at the AMEX.

When asked if Ferguson is ready for the jump to a club like Tottenham, Hutton told Football Insider: “He is still young and I think he has done really well, he has come on leaps and bounds.
“He has done well under De Zerbi, scored his first international goal so he will be on cloud at the moment.
“But it is a huge step up, even though Brighton are doing so well. There is a pressure that you have to play under at the likes of Tottenham, you have to hit a certain level.
“If Harry Kane stays you are not going to start every game but then there is one of the best strikers in the world that you can learn from which is a huge plus if he stays.
“He has to weigh up the pros and cons. Is he happy going there and not playing so many minutes or is he happy where he is at? It is a big stage in his career whether he stays where he is or moves to a bigger team.“
