Tottenham expert moots immediate Harry Kane talks after journalist's transfer update
Paul Robinson has urged Tottenham to enter contract talks with Harry Kane before the World Cup starts.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England number one suggested the 29-year-old would be willing sign a new deal in north London.
Kane’s current contract expires at the end of June 2024.
According to Bild’s Christian Falk (4 September), Bayern Munich are hopeful the striker will not pen new terms as they target a 2023 bid for his signature.
On 13 September, Calciomercato reported the England captain is also the subject of interest from Chelsea.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Kane’s future, Robinson said: “It is a situation that has to be addressed now.

“They have to start contract talks with him now. There is no better time to start.
“Spurs have not won or achieved anything yet but they are going places under Antonio Conte. They are competing at the top.
“I think now is the time to open contract talks. The club is in a decent situation.
“They need to look after themselves as well as the player. They cannot afford to be held to ransom next summer when he has just 12 months left on his deal. The club simply have to start negotiations before the World Cup starts.
“The club is in a strong position to do so. Look at where they are in all competitions. The club has never been in a better position.”
