Tottenham expert: Son Heung-min could be set for new role after Antonio Conte hint
Paul Robinson has suggested Son Heung-min will be utilised as substitute semi-regularly by Tottenham manager Antonio Conte this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-White Hart Lane number one said there is no “pecking order” at Spurs this year and that all front players will be rotated.
Son was dropped for Saturday’s visit of Leicester City, with Dejan Kulusevski taking his place in the starting XI.
The South Korea international came on in the second half to score a 13-minute hattrick as Spurs ran out 6-2 winners.
Speaking to Sky Sports (18 September), Antonio Conte hinted at using Son as a substitute again in the future.
Conte claimed his star players are “starting to understand” the importance of rotation.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Son’s performance, Robinson said: “I am so pleased for him.
“I know the type of person and player that he is. It was only a matter of time before he got back among the goals.
“This week his shots fell inside the post. His performances have not been bad. He has just been lacking goals and confidence. The only reason there has been question marks over his place is because of Richarlison and Kulusevski.
“Son was phenomenal in that game. It was great to see him with a smile on his face. I listened to his post-match interview and it was all about the team. That is the type of person that he is.
“He was arguably the best player in the Premier League last season. I know he will get back to those heights very soon.
“All the front players will get rotated this season. They are all excellent but bring different qualities. I don’t think there is a pecking order.”
