Tottenham face mission impossible to sell Dele Alli after source reveal - pundit
Tottenham face mission impossible in selling Dele Alli if he continues to underperform under Nuno Espirito Santo.
That’s the view of former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Spurs midfielder.
As revealed by Football Insider on 28 September, Tottenham are more likely to sell Alli next summer rather than in the January transfer window.
The midfielder is said to be “difficult to manage” as well as being labelled an “inconsistent trainer” by club sources.
After being dropped down the pecking order under former boss Jose Mourinho, Alli was given another chance to revive his Spurs career by Nuno.
He has so far failed to impress and only lasted 45 minutes in last weekend’s North London derby.

McAvennie claims there will be little interest in Alli unless he improves his form.
“The thing with Alli is, no one will sign you if you aren’t doing it,” McAvennie told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“If you aren’t performing then no one will come and sign you, it’s as simple as that. As it stands, no one wants him.
“A few years ago, you were saying ‘Alli, what a talent’. Now look at him, he’s gone backwards.
“He always has that bounce under a new manager but then fades. The talent must still be there, you don’t lose that.
“He needs to perform if he wants to get that move away. But if he does start playing well then Tottenham might keep him.
“It’s a strange one. They can’t sell him when he’s playing like this, surely?”
Alli has made 10 appearances in all competitions this season.
He scored his second goal of the season against Mura last night after starting the match but both his strikes have come from penalties.
