No one was happier to see Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal fall to defeat at home to Swedish side Ostersunds in the Europa League on Thursday night than Tottenham supporters.
The Spurs faithful took to Twitter following the win for the Swedish side to slate the Gunners and their manager for their complacent display.
Despite a comfortable 3-0 lead from the first leg, Arsenal made hard work of the return visit of Graham Potter’s side to the Emirates.
An own goal from Callum Chambers after Hosam Aiesh’s shot was quickly followed up by Ken Sema adding a second and put the Gunners on the brink of an embarrassing exit from the European competition.
However, Wenger’s side held on to go through to the next stage but that did not stop Spurs fans laying into their rivals on Twitter with some harsh words for their neighbours.
There was though, one lone voice amongst the crowd that urged his fellow to supporters to win something before slating their foes and said, ‘Can we win something before we stick it to AW.’
But most revelled in the Gunners downfall, with one sarcastically Tweeting, ‘#WengerIn’, while another wrote, ’embarrassment of England.’
Arsenal now face a wait to find out who will be their opponents in the next round of the competition.
