Tottenham fans have taken to social media to herald the performance of midfield star Dele Alli in the club’s 4-1 against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Lilywhites made the trip down to the south coast off the back of their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Juventus to knock Mauricio Pochettino and his men out of the Champions League, knowing that a win against the Cherries would see them leapfrog Liverpool into third in the Premier League table.

However they endured a nervy start, Eddie Howe’s side threatening early on before Junior Stanislas opened the scoring after seven minutes with a well taken strike from inside the box.

Harry Kane’s departure through injury looked to have dealt a serious blow to Spurs’ hopes of victory, but Alli was on hand to score 10 minutes before the half time whistle, before turning receiver with an assist for Heung-min Son to give the visitors the lead.

Tottenham fans were delighted with what they saw from the 21-year-old, who was replaced with five minutes left to play, and turned to Twitter to voice their admiration for his display.
