Tottenham fans have been left raging on social media over the first half performance of Moussa Sissoko in their clash against Burnley.

Spurs went into half time 1-0 up thanks to Harry Kane’s early penalty, which came as a result of Kevin Long’s foul on Dele Alli after just six minutes.

However it could have been 2-0 to Mauricio Pochettino’s men had Sissoko capitalised on a swift counter attack, with the French midfielder put through one-on-one with the Clarets’ goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Despite having just the shot stopper to beat, the 28-year-old put his shot right at Pope, before his second bite of the cherry was again denied by the feet of the goalkeeper.

Fans were less than impressed with what they saw from their £30million signing at Turf Moor, and took to Twitter to berate his performance.

Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Despite being dubbed a flop after his poor performances last season, Sissoko has been a regular in and about the first team squad this season, having appeared in all but one of the club’s league matches this season, 10 of his 18 outings coming in the starting XI.

He has made a total of 26 appearances across all competitions this season, netting his first goal for the club in the 4-0 win over Huddersfield, before striking again in the League Cup defeat to West Ham.
