'Doesn't help anyone' - Tottenham fans rage at Pochettino decision as 27-yr-old starts v Stoke

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to rage over Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to start Kieran Trippier against Stoke on Saturday.

Trippier, 27, has been off the boil in recent fixtures and many Spurs fans believe that he should be axed and be replaced by summer signing Serge Aurier, who has appeared to have started playing second fiddle to the former Burnley right-back.

Spurs announced their team news on their official Twitter account ahead of kick-off at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

Trippier was not involved in Wednesday night’s win over APOEL in the Champions League and was seemingly rested for this game against Stoke, who have been out of form in the Premier League as of late.

However although it was a change that many could see was coming, fans were not at all happy with Pochettino’s decision on took to Twitter to make that clear.

Trippier has made 15 appearances across all competitions this season and is one of the more prolific creators in the squad with seven assists to his name.

Aurier, who arrived from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, was thought to be signed up to replace Kyle Walker after he left for Manchester City, but it turns out that Trippier has been promoted to the starting role while Aurier is the new back-up.

In other Tottenham news, Spurs are to green light the exit of this 23-year-old after agreeing a deal in September.
