'A nightmare', 'Buzzing' – Tottenham fans react to group of death Champions League draw

By Harry Sykes

Tottenham found out who they’d be facing in this year’s Champions League group stage on Thursday afternoon – and if you’re a Spurs fan you might want to look away now.

The draw was made live from Monaco after the two-legged play-offs were completed this week.

Liverpool and Celtic both qualified over two legs and joined Tottenham, Man United, Man City and Chelsea as British interest in the elite European competition.

Tottenham were drawn from Pot 3, along with Liverpool, and got the toughest group of the lot!

If they want to progress they’ll have to get past Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Apoel.

Here is a selection of reactions from Spurs fans on Twitter to the news:

Tottenham will be hoping to do better than last year, when they were dumped out of a relatively easy group.

They drew Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Moscow, but finished third in the group.

They were relegated to the Europa League where they lost over two legs to Gent in the round of 32.
