'What a joke' - Tottenham fans react after club have same number of players in PFA team of year as Chelsea

Tottenham fans are not happy with the Professional Footballers’ Association’s decision to name the same number of Spurs players in their team of the year as Chelsea.

Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Dele Alli and Harry Kane were picked in the team with also includes four Chelsea players.

The PFA announced the team of the year on their official Twitter page.

Premier League leaders Chelsea have defensive duo Gary Cahill and David Luiz in the team which makes up an all-London backline alongside Rose and Walker.

N’Golo Kante joins Alli in the midfield while Eden Hazard is the stand-out player in Chelsea’s four representatives.

Antonio Conte and his men have led the league standings for most of the campaign but have come under increased pressure from Spurs in recent weeks after two defeats in four games.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side has capitalised after stringing together seven back-to-back league wins and are just four points behind their London rivals in the title race.

The two sides will come to blows on Saturday in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Tottenham fans are happy to see their players take up four of the 11 spots, but still think that Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld merited inclusion over Cahill and Luiz.

Some also think that Hugo Lloris should have been included over Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea for his impressive performances in goal this season.
