Tottenham fans have reacted with excitement on Twitter after Dimitar Berbatov’s agent claimed the player is keen on a return to the Premier League.
Berbatov’s agent Emil Dantchev has said the Tottenham legend wants to end his career with a return to the English top flight.
“Dimitar feels he can play for at least another year and his priority would be to come back to England,” Dantchev told the BBC Sport website.
The news of Berbatov’s potential return sparked excitement on Twitter by Tottenham fans as they discussed whether he should be handed another opportunity at the club where he made his name in England.
Berbatov is currently a free agent after he was released by Greek club PAOK Salonika in the summer so some fans think he would make a great addition as a third-choice striker at the club.
However, at the age of 35, many feel he is already way past his best and the club should not be looking to bring him back to White Hart Lane.

He's not a Poch player. But I'd have him as a back-up, he can do no wrong in my eyes.

The striker was prolific during his two years at the club and scored 46 goals in 102 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham, as well as lifting the League Cup.
He moved to Manchester United in 2008 and went on to win two Premier League titles, as well as winning the Golden Boot following an impressive 2010-11 campaign.
The Bulgarian was a hugely popular striker at Tottenham and, while his desire to return was greeted with excitement, fans are cautious of putting sentimentality ahead of reasoning.
