Tottenham fans slate senior player after win against Millwall
By Amir Mir Mir
Eric Dier played the full match as Tottenham beat Millwall 6-0 in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday afternoon – and fans on Twitter were not pleased with his performance.
The club’s senior player started in a back three for Spurs as they secured their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Their Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester City are currently the other names in the hat with Chelsea set to play Manchester United on Monday night at Stamford Bridge.
Nonetheless, the White Hart Lane faithful believe that Dier is simply not suited to a centre-back role, in particular when Mauricio Pochettino plays three at the back.
The Argentine will be pleased as his side scored six top quality goals during the game but he will be worried that his star striker Harry Kane had to go off injured after ten minutes.

It was Kane’s replacement, Christian Eriksen who opened the scoring with Seung-Heung Min scoring a hat-trick added with goals from Dele Alli and Vincent Janssen.
During the match, fans stated that Dier was average and that Pochettino should bring in a new right-sided defender in the summer.
Furthermore, others believe he is more suited to playing in the middle of the park with the likes of Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele playing in that role for the majority of this season.
Overall, fans weren’t pleased with Dier’s display against the League One club as his team are now two wins away from lifting the FA Cup.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Sorry but Dier is an average CB..If we r to persist with 3 at the back which I think we should we hv 2 invest in a new right sided CB #COYS
